William Petruck
President and CEO

Bill Petruck founded FUNDING matters in 1997 he has worked across a number of sectors and is known for his ability with multi-disciplinary and complex projects in raising the funds for capital and endowment projects.

He combines this with experience with private funders and their interests in financially supporting organizational and program development, including strategic and operational planning.

He has worked with a variety of populations including the homeless, First Nations and other Indigenous communities, children, older adults and people with disabilities as well as multi-ethnic populations. As well, he has worked in a number of disciplines including health, post-secondary, private schools, social services, employment, cultural heritage, economic development and green energy.

This combination has supported the successes he and FUNDING matters has achieved in facilitating positive change in programs, organizations and systems. He has worked with private sector, government and voluntary sector organizations.

FUNDING matters have been implementing the Logic Model in their advisory to not for profit organizations, government agencies and private funders since 2006.

Bill has a keen interest in the development of sustainability funded solutions for charities and donors. Through his work in building Giftabulator as an illustrative platform to be used by donors, their advisors and charities has directed hundreds of millions of dollars to charities, he has contributed to a better understanding of the donor engagement process with iShare; and a created a new model for Just-In-Time information and support for charities and those that advise them with PhilanthropyLab.

Bill has presented at numerous conferences, taught Fundraising and Not for Profit Management at Sheridan College, lectured on estate and planned giving at Humber College, Notre Dame University, Texas Tech University and the Capstone Program at York University.

Bill is a graduate of the University of Toronto and a life-long learner of how to help individuals give philanthropically to benefit society.



Micah Adler
Campaign Director

Micah has a proven track record in working in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors in areas related to not-for-profit capacity building. As Campaign Director, Micah works on all aspects of fundraising campaigns, including but not limited to proposal writing, client management, grant writing and event planning.

Micah is fluent in both Korean and English. He worked as the Executive Director at Korean Canadian Cultural Association, North American marketing manager for DK Mungyo, Reporter for one of the Largest Newspaper in Korea and as a Settlement Worker for the KCWA Family and Social Services.

Micah holds a JD in Law from Whittier Law School, California, MA, Political Science from Yonsei University in Korea, and BA, History from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Wendy Tran
IT Director

Wendy is responsible for the management and development of online software. In addition to her ongoing duties with the administration of the server systems, Wendy meets with clients to understand their needs and develops customized solutions to meet their technical requirements relating to ongoing projects.

Wendy holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Toronto.

Gerald Holowachuk
Accountant CFO, CA

Gerald has provided personal and corporate income tax returns and preparation to executives and business owners since 1984. He is also an active Chairman of the Finance Committee of a multilingual school.

Gerald is a member in good standing with both the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.

Daniel Joseph
Office Administrator

Daniel is a positive and passionate individual that enjoys helping others succeed. From his experience running KickStarter Campaigns, which he helped raise a quarter of a million dollars, to volunteering at the World Wildlife, Daniel has an aptitude towards connecting with people and helping them achieve their goals.

At FUNDING Matters Inc., he is responsible for overall office administration, and works with the campaign director to support client campaigns. This includes maintaining client databases, tracking project deliverables and arranging meetings between clients and potential donors.

Additionally, he is responsible for the creation of important documents such as: Case for Supports, Presentation Documents, Initial Email Templates, and Newsletters.

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, majoring in Environmental Studies & minoring in Ethics and Geography.

Jin Kim
Graphic Arts Technician

Jin is responsible for the design of FUNDING matters’ communication products. He is a Graphic Arts Technician who designs all campaign materials and related documents. Jin has served as Graphic Arts Technician at a number of companies and not-for-profits in both Canada and Korea. He is fluent in Korean and English.

Jin graduated from Centennial College with an Advanced Diploma in Electronics Technology Engineering.

Hyeseung Nam
Graphic Designer

Hyeseung is responsible for designing client materials such as campaign infographics and related documents. She is also involved in creating animated media shorts for marketing campaigns.

Hyeseung has previously worked as a graphics designer at the CBS TV station as well as a number of advertising companies in the US. Her talents also lends itself to the movie industry, where she took on the role as a Texture Painter on King Kong and a Roto&2D Paint Artist on The Lord of the Rings 2 and 3.

Hyeseung holds a Bachelors degree in Graphic Design from the Cleveland Institute of Art.
